Hi, I’m James!
I’m a wildlife and landscape photographer based in the UK
who loves capturing images of the natural world.
Here you can see a collection of my photographs
from over the years.
Northern Lights
On May 10, 2024, the UK experienced its strongest geomagnetic storm in over two decades, resulting in a stunning and prolonged aurora visible across the northern hemisphere. Prepared by an early alert, I set up my camera in my garden in East Anglia to capture this extraordinary event. Despite challenging conditions, the vibrant skies made it worthwhile. This collection features my photographs from that long spectacular spring night.
View ProjectThe Deer Rut
Every year across the UK, deer species engage in the dramatic ritual known as ‘the rut’. This captivating event draws numerous photographers eager to capture the spectacle. In November 2023, I ventured to Bradgate Park in Leicestershire at sunrise, arriving at 5am to find the rut in full swing. This collection aims to recreate the essence and atmosphere of the experience, highlighting the competitive and brutal courtship that red deer endure during this season.
View ProjectNorfolk Seals
Braving overcast skies, I ventured to the Norfolk coast during the grey seal pup season. Thousands gather annually, facing challenges of changing tides, fights, and overcrowding. Despite their struggles, this collection captures the adorable and expressive essence of these resilient marine mammals in their natural habitat
